Short answer: October to April. Long answer is more interesting.
October and November: the sweet spot
Temperatures between 22 and 30°C, clear skies, the Nile at its best. Hotels are most expensive but it's worth it.
May to September: amazing prices, but hot
If you can handle 38-42°C at midday (especially in Luxor and Aswan), you'll find prices up to 30% lower and far fewer tourists. We start visits at 6am and rest at midday.
